This Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund has been set up to directly aid victims of the April 25 earthquake. We were inspired to do this by Nepali students in the Boston area who have participated in Blakeley Fellowship programs and want to get funds to the victims quickly.
100% of funds donated will be transferred immediately to support relief efforts of responsible organizations working on the ground at and around Kathmandu with no administration fees taken out. The Blakeley Foundation is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) so donations will be tax deductible.
What the Blakeley Foundation is doing can be differentiated from the big charity organizations which do a good job but funds do not always get to the people who need it the most and when they do the funds do not get to these people in time.
The Blakeley Foundation Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund is partnering closely in Nepal with: Deerwalk Social Welfare Network located at Tamreshwor Mahadevsthan, Sifal, Kathmandu, Nepal. Deerwalk already has 100’s of volunteers walking street by street and door to door.
The Association for Dalit Women Advancement of Nepal (ADWAN) is a human rights organization for Dalit (so called low-caste) women and children and operates in marginalized communitied in the Gorkha district where the epicenter was as well as in Ilam, Arghakhanchi, Baglung, Jhapa, Chitwan and Sarlahi.
